Ha long Bay, Vietnam
Nk Tripathi
We visited one of the most wonderful geographical features in the world, Ha Long Bay.
It is situated 180 km east of Hanoi off the coastal city of Ha long. This small bay has a remarkable collection of very small islands (islets).
The bay features hundreds of limestone islets in various shapes and sizes. Almost all these islands are as individual in a classic landscape with heights ranging from 50–100 metres. These rocks have taken 20 million years in their formation in the tropical climate.
We saw some of the islets from our cruise and boat. In the picture behind us, you can see various rocks which are small islets. These limestone rocks have been declared. UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nature is, after all, dazzling !
