A Journey of Three Photos in 50 Years
Photo-1. 50 year back in 1974, in bitter cold, my fresh IPS batch reached the then National Police Academy at Mt. Abu, a hill station in Rajasthan. The first photo is of that time. During our training time our Academy shifted to Hyderabad. We saw both places.
Photo-2. After 35 years of service ( 15 years back) in the year 2009 my batch assembled with families for Reunion at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad. The second photo was taken in the Academy. In that Reunion I had gone from Gwalior, where I was transport commissioner.
Photo-3 After 50 years of service, this year we again assembled for official Reunion at the same Academy at Hyderabad. This time everyone had retired for sometime now. 33 of my batch mates, including me, reached this time, mostly with families. 17 batch mates could not reach because of various issues, including health. Sadly, there were 33 (the similar number who attended) who could not come because they are not in this world. It was a Reunion of great rejoicing but with heavy hearts for those who were missing. A formal photograph was taken on the occasion. This is the last official gathering of our batch.
50 years have flown as if it was only yesterday.
