Trump’s Idiosyncrasies

Apart from shaking the whole world with his silly tariffs, Trump is often humiliating India. He calls India repeatedly tariff king. He takes all the credit for the ceasefire between Pakistan and India. He brags that his threat of stopping trade with Pakistan and India brought them on their knees. Departing from two decades old American policy, he hyphenated Pakistan with India. He hurt Indian sensitivities by jumping to mediate on Kashmir. US knows fully well that since 1972, India’s declared policy is to have only bilateral talks with Pakistan. He has helped Pakistan to bring Kashmir issue to the International attention. His family has happily entered into a deal with Pakistan over crypto currency. He imagined that India has accepted to reduce its tariffs almost to zero.
Recall how close he was to Modi and Indian public and many here rejoiced his electoral victory over liberal Biden. He is taxing non-citizens 5% for sending money home. He has made a mess of Russia-Ukraine and Israel Hamas wars. He directly negotiated a deal with Houthis for the safety in the Red Sea, and also bypassing Israel, he made a deal with Hamas to get the release of the last American hostage. Thankfully, Trump is getting exposed and caught in his own logic.
Donald Trump’s trade team wants to sign 90 deals in 90 days. So far only Britain and China have bagged agreements; dozens of other countries are jostling for one. He is blaming local retailers, including Walmart for higher prices of goods, which are actually due to his own folly of tariffs. But the Americans have short attention spans and limited patience. He has to amend himself or go down as nuisance in now declining America.
