We Humans Are Eternal Children of Cosmos

I am not an astronomer or a physicist, but I love to wander in the mind-boggling universe with its boundless space and time. Conceiving about the universe gives me a thrill like, I think, a Sufi gets in his trance. Apart from the space and time, the most fascinating is the journey of universe (or cosmos) since it’s primordial ( very beginning) time of Big Bang, 14 billion years ago. We humans are the result of this long journey.

Interesting story began with the big bang. Before the big bang there was only empty and dark space, which carried energy that stretched the universe out to the enormous size. The big bang is how astronomers explain the way the universe began. Big Bang is the idea that the universe began as just a single point, then expanded and stretched to grow as large as the universe is right now. It is still stretching! The first generation of stars after Big Bang, 14 billion years ago underwent nucleus synthesis, creating the elements. When these stars exploded in supernovas, they expelled the elements into space, producing matter for the next generation of stars. The newly formed stars again burnt and exploded creating new elements. Atoms of each element came from a star and combination of these atoms of different elements from different stars, created gases, minerals, planets, water, and air.

The result of this journey is the creation of the human beings. Our every atom comes from the celestial bodies. Every living being has travelled 14 billion years to reach the unique planet Earth, where all that needed for life – air, water, soil, trees and a warming sun – united. So every fibre of our body has descended from the space.

The amazing fact for we human beings ( and all living beings) is that even if we perish ( die ), our atoms go to the environment as a material for the new life. Thus our material was and will be eternal. This is truly fascinating and metaphysical and may remind the holy message of Gita. We had been there for billions of years and we will remain there for the unimaginable time to come.
